Conditional (IF - CLAUSE)

Conditional Clause (If-Clause)
·         Type 1
Simple Present                 à          Simple Future
S + is/am/are +...             à          S + will/can/may/must + be +...
S + V1(s,es,ies) + ...         à          S + will/can/may/must + V1 +...
Example :           
1.       If you are ok, I will call you
2.       If you study hard, you will be succesful

·         Type 2
Simple past         à     Past future
S + were +...        à     S + would/could/... + be
S + V2 + ...          à      S + would/... + V1
Example :
1.       If he were here,he would tell you about it.
True situation (in simple present) :          He is not here so he doesn’t tell you.
2.       If  Aldy studied hard, he would pass the exam.
True situation (in simple present):           Aldy doesn’t study hard so he doesn’t pass the exam.

·         Type 3
Past perfect              à        Past Future Perfect
S + had + been + ...  à         S + would/could/might + have +been + ...
S + had + V3 + ...      à         S + would / could/might + have + V3 +...
Example :
1.       If I had know you were there, I could have written you a letter.
True situation : I didn’t know you were there.
2.       If he had studied hard ,he would have passed the exam
True situation : He didn’t study hard so didn’t pass the exam.
